The Alpine CDE-123R was designed to meet the increasing consumer demand to connect the car’s Head Unit with a wide variety of portable electronic devices, such as an iPod or iPhone, USB mass storage devices, a portable navigation unit or even a Nokia mobile phone for music playback. In addition it features extensive Bass Engine sound tuning capabilities, four colour illumination to match the Alpine CDE-123R to your vehicle’s dashboard illumination colour and a "Favourite" key, that let’s you select your favourite source at a single push of a button.
This versatile head unit provides USB inputs on the front and rear. Use the rear input for a "permanent" connection and the front one for plugging in portable devices. The Alpine CDE-123R also lets you connect a portable navigation device via it’s front AUX port so you can hear the voice guidance from your system front speakers. The navigation voice mix can be adjusted in many steps to perfectly blend with the normal audio playback.
You can control your iPhone/iPod from the head unit, using Quick Search to find songs fast. Direct iPod Control mode lets you use the iPhone/iPod interface for direct operation and for viewing information in your desired language. This comes especially handy when a passenger selects the music while you keep your eyes on the road.
